All models have 10X Widefield eyepieces, 5-objective nosepieces, achromatic or plan achromatic infinity-corrected objectives (DIN), 1.25 N.A. Abbe condensers, coaxial uiltra-low focusing controls, mechanical stages with drop-down X-Y controls, and 20W/6V variable quartz halogen illumination. Binocular or trinocular heads; brightfield or phase contrast objectives.
Brightfield models use the most common illumination technique, directing light through the sample and to the eye of the viewer. In some cases staining may be required in order to see samples.
Phase Contrast models use special lighting configurations to induce contrast without staining, especially useful in wine making, biotech and biological applications and asbestos testing. True Zernike condensers.
