Just put the bait inside and wait. When the animal enters the trap and steps on a treadle located two-thirds of the way inside, the treadle catch releases and the trap door snaps shut. Folding traps collapse for convenient carrying and storage. Nos. 273950 and 273954 are made of .020" aluminum. No. 273956 is made of .025" aluminum. Both Nos. 273954 and 273956 have a galvanized door and treadle. No. 273956 has a 4 1/4" bridge between the treadle plate and trap to prevent premature triggering of the trap and reduce the possibility of the door closing on long tails. Non-folding No. 273960 is made of .020" aluminum; No. 273962 of .025" aluminum.
